Hiking the Robberg

The Robberg Hiking Trail is probably one of the most popular and well-known trails in the area and also one of the most scenic. The route is a circular trail along the Robberg peninsula with two shorter variations – ranging from easy to mildly challenging.

Experience sea, sand, mountain and forest. Seals loll down below so keep an eye out whilst tramping the trail. Oystercatchers and kelp gulls photobomb your selfies.  From a geological point of view the terrain is fascinating.

It’s no wonder that it is a Word Heritage Site and a national monument.

What we loved:

  • Not too many people.
  • Not polished and fenced, just pure beauty.
  • Watching the seals.
  • Beautiful sand dunes and pristine beaches.
  • It’s almost impossible to take a bad photo.
